一、磨盤鉆機機用柴油機作動力，有電力地區(qū)也可改用電動機驅動。
二、本鉆機為散裝式轉盤鉆機，主要是用于第四紀中、細顆粒地層及一般軟巖石層。
主要用途有：
1、勘探和普查底層的水文地質情況；
2、為農業(yè)灌溉、工業(yè)用水鉆鑿水井；
3、地下坑道通風、橋梁等工程鉆孔。
三、鉆機工作時用泥漿沖洗液（正循環(huán)），轉盤回轉帶動鉆具轉動。用卷揚系統(tǒng)實現(xiàn)減壓鉆進、升降鉆具、下井管、沖擊取樣、立放鉆塔等。
四、鉆機設有微調鉆進機構和機械擰卸鉆具裝置。
